    IE8 - aaaarrrggghh!

    Hated it so much I switched to Google Chrome and I'm much happier!

    I use Firefox, but if you do use IE, you should get IE8 because it has many security holes fixed. Probably opens up more new ones, but generally security is tighter in 8.

    I downloaded it last night, I HATE IT !!!!!!!!!!!!! What else can i use that's easy??

    I have IE8 on my home computer. All I can say is it is different, seems to have slowed things down on initial boot each session. My wife hates it.

    I also have Avast on my home security along with Microsoft Defender..I think the redundancy is the main culprit for IE8 startup speed. Avast updates about every 36 hours, that slows down my first 3 or 4 minutes.

    We have some really good IT folks here at TOI and PPG. I asked about Google Chrome about a month ago. Three of the 4 recomended to stay away from it at home for a few more months and a big no for the work station.
