TRANSITIONS SPOTLIGHTS HEALTHY VISION AT FAMILY CIRCLE CUP
Women’s Tennis Tournament Sponsorship Provides Outreach Opportunity
PINELLAS PARK, Fla., May 4, 2009 – Promoting the importance of vision health in sports, Transitions Optical, Inc. supported this year’s Family Circle Cup, a premier women’s tennis tournament held annually in Charleston, S.C., through a corporate sponsorship and education. The 2009 Family Circle Cup, held April 11-19, attracted more than 87,000 attendees who watched as world-class players Nadia Petrova and Bethanie Mattek-Sands won the doubles tournament, and 19-year-old Sabine Liciski captured the singles trophy. Throughout the tournament, Transitions distributed more than 10,000 brochures at the Family Circle Tent and demonstrated how Transitions® lenses work at an on-site booth. Through a partnership with US Vision, Transitions also conducted free lens cleanings and vision screenings at the tournament.

As a corporate sponsor, Transitions had a strong advertising presence on-site through outdoor and print ads as well as on the tournament’s Web site. Transitions television commercials ran during the tournament’s broadcast on ESPN2 and created more than 1 million impressions with consumers.
