Just bury us now! (Along w/ the economy...)

Our glorious vice president came out today and announced that we shouldn't be traveling on airplane, subways, or confined places.

First of all there has been one death in the US from this "pandemic", and the person was not even a citizen of this country.

In a bad economy, fo rteh VP of the country to come on and say not to travel, and stay out of confined places (stores? restaurants? theaters?), when there have been no significant cases (when compared to the common flu which has killed many more thousands) is totally ridiculous.

Talk about a deathwish for the economy!:hammer::finger:

This ought to help it down the tubes a little more.

As we post, the Prez is announcing the partnership with Chrysler and Fiat. So we're not down yet!

Thank God nobody pays attention to Vice Presidents. They should refrain from talking, and only show up in public when they shoot their hunting companions.

Will Smith won't be fighting zombies in NY anytime soon as the last survivor of a super virus. The problem is the unpredictability of the virus, and its potential to mutate into a virulent, highly contageous and drug resistant strain, so taking precautions early is the best medicine.

Actually I think it's quite clever, and more than a bit devious on Biden's part. He knows that the 'Party of No' will simply reject anything he says and do the opposite. Then once all the Republicans board planes and subways and contract Swine Flu, they will be done as a serious political party forever.

This is the kind of Machiavellian plotting that only a Cheney can fully appreciate.

If things go really badly, and it IS possible, the economy will be hurt when all those dead people aren't spending money, either.

    more on the flu...

    Well,

My daughter's middle school is one of three in Hillsborough County Fl to close, a 6th grader suspected to have the flu...school is closed all week.

Being a borderline clean-freak/germaphobe myself, my daughters and I are going over hand-washing techniques again... I am flying to NJ to give CE's next weekend, but think I will bypass the mask, and stick to lots of hand-washing (while singing Happy Birthday...)

We are getting mixed reports here...on one hand, we are being assured that the cases are mild. On the other hand, we are closing schools.

Over-reactions, or 'better safe than sorry'?

I think I had the Mutant Swine last January before it made the news. I was out of it for a month. I even lost my voice for a week. Remember that flu we had last January? I talked to a lot of sick people on the phone all over the country.

Ill take this little piglet bug anytime

The media is playing this one up too much. I dont think it is any worse than last January.

You know the stock market has been going up and the losses have been stabilizing?
