    Media Player

I'm having trouble with my home computer viewing any type video link. They start to load and then play a few seconds, and freeze up and continue to load, and on and on the same. This happens on news videos, you-tube, and any video links from e-mail.

I loaded the latest version of media player, no help.

I'm not a computer guy, so any help appreciated.

Are you on a dial-up internet connection or high-speed DSL or cable? Media players can often play a video faster than you can download it if your connection is slow. To help combat this, when the video opens, hit the Pause button until you see the red line finish loading at the bottom.
Now if you have high-speed internet, check here

to see if you're up to your purchased speed.
If you can play videos already on your computer, or DVD movies, but not ones on the internet, this could well be your problem.

Thanks Dragon. I'll run the speed test when I get home. It is a DSL line, not dial up.

A DSL line should not have the delay you're getting. Next time, try to load a youtube video and watch the red line at the bottom (by the Play button) grow. It should load an average video in a minute or less.

    Yep

Sounds like Dragon hit the nail on the head. Did that identify the problem?

Yeah, turns out he moved a phone and didn't move the DSL filter too.
