    Dolce & Gabbana sunglass

Just opened the latest New Yorker, and on page 3 is a full-color, full page ad for a sunglass that doesn't fit over the model's ear properly! The bend is too far forward.

I guess the advertising budget was too small to afford an optician to fit the frame.

You,d be supprised how few photographers have a clue and appearently fashion mags don't send an optician along for the shoot.

Frames too wide for the skinny model.

Temples too long too short or too wide

    No lenses in frame, etc.

Nevermind fashion magazines. When's the last time you've looked closely at the adds in optical magazines, or even the new POP that comes in! I was just talking about this today at work. We got a new catalog in for the Tommy Hillfiger line. On the cover is a man and a woman, both wearing thick, large black plastic frames. The woman's frame clearly doesn't fit. Way too big for her. Half way through the catalog, another picture... two people. NO GLASSES. Come on folks. Remember who your target audiance is!

Fashion magazine ads are aimed at the consumer who buys them. Only an optician would notice that the frame is somehow wrong. Therefore it doesn't matter.

Ive noticed that too. I mean, they get a hair stylist to fix the 1 piece of hair out of place, but the sunglasses will look hideous on the model...

Some of our signage has had models wearing glasses that had been obviously Photoshopped on. It drove us nuts.
