The Optical Association of Washington convention / meeting is April 17th, 18th and 19th in Shelton. Just wondering if anyone else on Optiboard is from WA or Seattle? Just wondering if any of you WA people are going?

I will be there...looking forward to it. Its great reconnecting with old classmates and meeting new people. Its the 60th (I think) anniversary of the OAW and lots of people are planning to dress in 40's attire.....should be interesting!
I will be the tall one: I am 6 foot 3 inches. Say hello if you want.

I'm going to try to attend. Also, there is supposed to be a new SCCC school of opticianry alumni group forming, so if your a graduate, check it out.
Life is too important to take seriously.
WALDO!
I will be there manning my booth! Stop by and introduce yourself please. I may even have a prize for any OB'ers. ;)

Scrumblydumpus!......You know the Alumni Association is for real! We just need more graduates to join and be active...Hope to see you there. Find me to get your white Seattle Central Alumni ribbon....(you know who I am)...and invite to the Alumni hospitality suite!
I was recently looking at the OAW website and I could not find any link or info pertaining to the process of licensure. Does anyone know how an existing ABO/NCLE optician go about registering and taking the state test?
The test is given by the Dept. of Health. Go to the DOH website and find the licensing link..you can search by O for optician and they will give you all the information you need about requirements, dates etc. and you can download the application forms. As far as I know, the next exam will be in August. You need to have either an Associates of Applied Science in Opticianry or 600 hours (I think) as a registered apprentice to sit for the test.
I sat for te test and got my license last year...let me know If I can be of any help.
Here ya go Nick...
