    POP Rant

    Excuse me, Mr./Ms./whotheheckever Marchon marketing genius...perhaps I missed something. Was I misinformed about the purpose of POP? Have I for the last 20 years mistakenly identified myself as working in the optical industry?

    This brilliant new ad campaign featuring the great Mr. Woods - arguably one of the best golfers the world has ever seen, a fact that clearly indicates his a perfect image to sell eyeglasses - would look great in my shop except for one tiny little issue. THESE ARE PHOTOS OF A POST-LASIK TIGER WHO ISN'T WEARING EYEWEAR OF ANY KIND!!!!

    I'd like the 50 cents back you charged me on my frames to pay for this idiocy.

    you get POP??? :(

    About a month ago I ordered a new line from a vendor that shall remain nameless (don't want to send Fezz into orbit :D), I called my rep and asked if I could get a counter card or something small to advertise the new line, she tells me she thinks that they might have sent it all out to other accounts, but she'd see what she could get "them" to do for me... Whatever...not big enough I suppose, haven't seen anything yet, don't expect to either...

    I think I'm going to make my own, I'll take pics of family and friends then super-impose frames on their faces... YIKES!

    How many of us would think twice about a poster at the proctologist office showing Clint Eastwood...holding the latest in colostomy bags?

    The amount of energy every single frame line puts into their advertising is pretty amazing. And it certainly (and absolutely) destroys any hope of presenting a medically based feeling in the vast majority of dispensaries around the globe.

    We are such a strange industry! :)

    I highly suggest you bring in a Luxottica line like Vogue. They sent me this huge chrome looking paper thing that looks like it came out of a closed casino in Vegas. I think it was about 3 feet wide and 2 feet high, and looked like they spent $1 on it.

    It's up to the rep to get to the pop before the other reps or so I have heard. They only make so much and you better know how to get it. Newer reps have a harder time. If I want pop, I always get it and they know I want small things only, so why when I don't ask for anything at all do I get large and hideous pop that I simply stick in the closet to toss out next time I clean it?

    Stop!! It works great on the garage floor when changing the oil in the mower. If you spill any oil, just rub it around, and you can then use it as a fire starter in the outdoor pit.

    Marchon? The company that direct shipped my patient their order 5x with invoices? The company whose rep tried to get me punted from school? I can't get coach cause my account is too small (70k/yr to Safilo). Love em!

    What about the Silhouette lady that sleeps in her glasses?

    Got it...

    I received this flat package last Thursday and it was filled with Tiger POP and explaining about what I can get when I have accumulated 20 Nike points. Who cares.

    The POP was n/c, the shipping of this garbage was $17.53. I wasted no time in calling Marchon to credit the shipping charges...I didn't ask for this, so I was not going to pay for shipping. I received the credit yesterday.

    Pop

    I just got the same HUGE flat package from Marchon w/the Tiger POP. What a complete waste! The rep knows I don't have space for large POP and it sucks anyway. I hadn't even looked at the invoice but I will be ASAP and getting a credit for any shipping charges...

    hell, send it to me, my brother in law saw the big tiger poster and almost pee'd... so i gave him the small one.

    we have a fairly contemporary styled office, there is no place for 3 big tiger boxes, one pretty large poster and one HUGE poster. our nike case is only about 20" wide and 5.5' tall... the poster is bigger then their display
