Stickers to prevent AR lenses from slipping.

Hey lab gurus, where can we buy the adhesive stickers that go on AR lenses to keep them from slipping? They come with some of our uncut AR lenses and seem to work great but don't know where to get them. They are the ones you put on the lenses before blocking with leap pads etc.

If you could let me know which ones are your favorites and where you get them it would be much appreciated.

    Redhot Jumper Do it yourself.....................

My suggestion is to get your AR coated lenses without the slick coat -----------------------> finish them and then apply the slick coat yourself.

Save a lot of the slick coat-----------------> and have no trouble and re-dos while saving a lot of money and make more profit. As simple as that.

Contact DAC Vision, PSI, or any other lab supplier for them. Some wholesalers also stock supplies of them for their customers. They ain't cheap!! But if they save a breakage, use them.

I get mine from Optisource. Put one on, use a LSE pad and apply another regular pad on the back of the lens and you'll eliminate slippage.

We have a roll of the pads for slick coat lenses which works fairly well. However, we found that by doubling the leap pad (one on the block as normal and another on the lens back side) has worked better for us. We also do this with high + and - RX's where the clamping pad may not have full pressure on the lens.

.....not too many problems with slipping after we started doing this.

Sometimes I'll call up our Zeiss lab that we use and tell them we need more of the edging pads. They usually send out a decent quantity and they're free. So just give the lab a call and politely ask for more. :)

Dynamic Labs, Pro Edge blocking pads
    Don't touch the pad
clean the lens (if there is no microfilm)
    Use the right size chuck/clamp
    Set edger to slow/careful

Why did it only happen on high - and cyl lenses?

The increased edge thickness leads to increased torque applied to the blocking pad.
