Got my progressive lens identifier a few days ago. Remember when it was just a couple 2 or 3 pages?? Now it's a spiral notebook. Wonder how long it will take before it looks like the FRAMES book?! I just can't understand the proliferation. When will we make the world safer by enacting Progressive Non-proliferation treaties!:hammer:
I have seen lens maps from several different progressives, and I think they should just be honest and admit the truth:
There are still only about 20 lens designs out there. There are many distributors, but not many manufacturers. The distributors have lenses made with many different markings, but the lenses are all the same. For example, I have seen with my own eyes three "brands" of lenses that map out EXACTLY the same as a Varilux Comfort. The other three are very cheap- I can buy five for the same as one Comfort. So, do what I did- educate yourself and start selling digital- just be careful who you buy from. Not all who have digital processing equipment can actually do it right.
