Need to find a new lab

We are having a few issues with our current lab (Omni), in terms of turnaround with jobs, and flexibility on remakes/changes. We are in Texas btw

Our optical hasnt been open very long.. whom would you recommend?

    1. Quality/Turnaround
    2. Flexibility
    3. Price (shipping/cost)

    Thanks

they have the best pricing for we have found, and about the best people we could hope to deal with

its zeiss, so no hope for varilux or the essilor products they spend too much to advertise, but more then enough to keep us busy

    re: US Optical

I just opened an account with US Optical. I ordered a pair of Seiko Succeed internal free-form lenses and a pair of FT-28s at 3:45 yesterday and got them today -- that's great!

Optogenics of Syracuse is my only lab I use. They have great prices and may even give you a discount if your volume is high enough. Average turn-around on a Varilux Physio (pick any substrate) with Crizal Avance' is around 3-4 days(they coat on-site). They are fully VisionWeb integrated and offer on-line ordering via their website optogenics.com. They give anywhere from a dollar to three dollars discount for all electronic orders. Shipping is billed per invoice at $1.75. IME all non A/R coated stuff ships overnight 90% of the time.

Give up on the "Vision Web is a must" thing and go with a lab that can actually service you. I have a suggestion for you if you want a really good lab- but they don't do Vision Web. They have online ordering that is very easy, and lenses that will actually impress your customers (I know- "patients"). Everyone that we have fit has the same comment: "best glasses I've ever had". I order primarily digital PALs from them for the same price as traditional. They do traditional stuff, but I think they are trying to phase that out. I get the feeling they want to go "all digital". Much better lenses at the same price? I'm sold. BTW: where in Texas are you? They are in Dallas, I'm east and get great service

I'm also in TX. Pentax & DBL are the labs we use the most. Customer service, quality, and turnaround time are great with both. Sometimes we'll also use Hoya Dallas for stock trivex to keep the cost down.

That's you're choice, but it does limit your possibilities.

Our lab just dumped Visionweb, implemented an easier (much) online system, and is saving us the Visionweb fee per job to boot.

We use Vision Web also and have used at times Legends, Hoya and Omega in Dallas. None of them have been as consistant as DBL. Wonderful customer service also. Have used them for 14 months now.

My favorite of all times is ICARE Labs in St. Petersburg, Fl. The best customer service you can find, great quality/turnaround and the prices are great.

No, this is the opposite of the VE! No reps, no vendors, no high priced hotels, no $49 toast and coffees. Just a small group of independent opticians hanging out for a weekend, someplace warmer, less expensive, and more laid back, shooting the breeze about the industry, and how indy's can thrive in the present economic climate.

    You should be there!

When is it? Richmond is about 1 hour from where I live. Not far. While you there, you should go to Kings Dominion. The adrenaline rush of your life!. Are you from this area too?
