I was the manager of a Cookie Store in the Mall. The manager of the Optical shop next door was a regular customer of mine, and he offered me a job EVERY DAY FOR A YEAR. Finally after working a 100 hours a week for months on end, I gave in and accepted his offer. Now almost 10 years later I have an actual career.
I had a friend in 8th grade who knew back then (26 years ago) that he wanted to be a an Optician. We all thought that was a weird job to want for a 13 year old, we wanted o be Firemen or Baseball players. Who knew he was so smart.
Actually I got into the optical business on the night shift at Modern Optics of Houston in the eight grade. But It was because I wanted cars and beer and gasoline money. Unfortunately it didn't leave me any time to enjoy the cars, beer and gasoline.
