    Huvitz autolensmeter

I purchased a Huvitz autolensmeter from the Huvitz mainland China distributor. Have had problems from day 1, it has been in for service several times since we purchased it 5 months ago. Now the distributor is telling us it never worked right when we bought it and basically we are out of luck.

I will attempt to contact the Korean main office this week and see if I get anywhere. I will post an update.

I have one. Got it through Veatch in the US. It did go out on us after we had it for several months. But Veatch sent us a loaner, and repaired the problem for us at no charge. It's been OK now for about 2 1/2 years. One of the reasons I bought it, besides the fact it was cheaper than most, was the fact that it came with a full 3 year warranty. I also thought it is easier to use then some of the big names like Topcon, etc.

I've owned a huvitz autolensometer now for about 2.5 years. No problems so far. It's been accurate and it was relatively low priced. I hope you get a better response from huvitz since customer service should always be a priority.

Unfortunately service in this part of the world is often in name only. The reason we went with Huvitz was it seemed easier to use, was less expensive and was the only model that could accomodate larger diameter uncuts.

One year later and I am still having problems with the Huvitz autolensmeter. Last year at VEE I had met with someone from Huvitz Korea (I won't mention names) and told him the problem I was having. He said he would follow up on the problem to make sure it was solved but apparently he gave me lip service because there was no follow up service and my emails went unanswered.

I would think in your part of the world Huvitz would be more responsive, not less.

As it turns out the email I sent to Huvitz day had a favorable response. They asked that I ship the unit to their office and they will repair the unit for me.
