I can't believe you forgot both the James Stewart classic It's a Wonderful Life!, and A Christmas Story ("You'll shoot your eye out! You'll shoot your eye out!)
I'ts a toss-up between those two but I think I'll go with Wonderful Life because of it's longevity and because of Jimmy Stewart.

Gee, I'm sorry! I didn't realize Its A Wonderful Life had been released in cartoon format! :D
I figured we'd poll the cartoons and the "movies" seperately, but afterall its your poll, Steve! (Geesh!)
I'm just kidding... we can do them all together if you like!
PS- If you want to know when your favorite cartoon special will be on (sorry, no movies listed here), visit Cartoon Special Times and Channels

Christmas Story and Charlie Brown's Christmas are classics for me because they mirror the times I grw up in.![]()
I was just yanking your chain, Steve! You should really start a poll for Christmas movies...
I just don't happen to watch Christmas movies very often (but my most un-favorite has to be Miracle on 34th Street)! Consequently, I don't know many of the titles.
I really like A Christmas Carol (especially the one with Patrick Stewart!).

Never seen any of them movies so I cant vote, at christmas here to be sure, they show the annual Charlie and the Chocolate factory. It has been shown everry chriastmas day for many's a year,
Like the New avator pete, looks like harry j didnt loose his flowing
Irish locks after his last visit:bbg:
The new avatar is none other than Heat-Miser and his brother Freeze-Miser (though it is interesting to know that Harry has a resemblence to Heat-Miser ;) ). In The Year Without Santa Clause, Mrs. Clause needs a day of snow in "South Town." Unfortunately, it is within the realm of Heat-Miser, and he will only agree to let it snow for a day if his brother will allow a day of sunshine and heat at the North Pole.
Finally, their mother (Mother Nature, of course) settles the two down and Santa is free to ride! For some reason, this special is almost never shown on network TV, so I've only been able to catch it once every few years or so... It was always my favorite as a kid though!

Sean,
The Year Without A Santa Claus will be returning to network TV for only the second time in thirty years tomorrow (Sunday) night on CBS (8pm). To find the times your other favorites are showing, follow the link I posted on the third message in this string!

Oh! I didn't see "Cartoon" at the top either. I was going to say my favorite special is "75% lowest marked price"
Gotta be Santa Claus is coming to town. Second is Rudolph the Red Nosed Raindeer. One of the greatest things about all of the great cartoon specials, is that they still uphold moral principles and good overcomes evil. I love that. My grandchildren watch love them, and we have most of the movies on video. Gotta look for The Year without Santa. By the way, Pete, it was on last night. Can't remember the channel.
There's another cartoon special...can't remember the exact name, but it's "The little Drummer Boy." There was another one last nigt, that I had seen before, but can't remember the name either. It was about a long eared donkey. Nevil, I believe was his name.
Got a cold, going to New York to see the lights anyway, Diane
Anything worth doing is worth doing well.
Diane:
My daughter, who is the absolute authority on most all (american) animated programs, assures me that the donkey, and title of the program you were referring to is "Nestor".
jP
Oh Nestor!!! Jenny I had totally forgotten about that one! I always loved Nestor. I always liked The year without Santa Claus too if only for the catchy tune they sing...Do you remember the song Pete?? Anyone?? I remember the one that Heat miser sings but can't seem to recall Freeze miser. I also like The Grinch. I would have to agree with Steve that A wonderful life is the best if we were going for unanimated specials. I don't usually watch too many of them anymore. I always watch It's A wonderful life. You just have to.
Steph
Steph,
I'm Mister Freeze-Miser, I'm Mr. Snow;
I'm Mr. White Christmas, I'm Mr. 10 below.
They call me "Snow-Miser," whatever I touch,
turns to snow in my clutch,
I'm too much...
da da da da daaaaaah da, da da da da daaaaaah da!
And don't forget the little dancing freeze-misers that go along with the song and dance! My kids thought it was quite funny! My son does this thing of bouncing up and down with his hands flapping (kind of odd, actually, but it means he's enjoying himself). They've watched it twice so far... (strangely, it didn't come on CBS, but it has been on FoxFamily a few times).

Ok Pete, I think Heat Miser goes (correct me if I am wrong) I'm Mr. Heat Miser I'm Mr. Sun I'm Mr. Heat Blister I'm Mr.101 they call me Heat miser whatever I touch seems to melt in my clutch...dadadadaahhhhhhh Or something like that. For some bizarre reason me and a friend of mine used to sing it all the time. I am not 100% positive though. I got most of it anyway. Ever notice how we seem to have a plethora of useless information? If I put this much effort into my job I may have already been rich by now!! LOL!!!
Steph
I was lucky enough to be channel surfing when i happen upon a channel that was showing a small commercial of their night time line up.
Howdy Dude,
"I'm Mr. Freeze miser. I'm Mr. Snow. I'm Mr. Frost bite. I'm Mr. 10 below. Friends call me Freeze miser, whatever I touch...freezes in my clutch. I'm too much!", "I'm Mr. Heat Miser. I'm Mr. Sun. I'm Mr. Heat stroke. I'm Mr. 101. Friends call me Heat miser, whatever I touch...melts in my clutch. I'm too much!" :)
What do you think?

You're right. It was Nestor... I can hear his mother saying it reminding him to protect his ears. Was it " Ears Nestor"? I'm gonna look for it again, and watch it.
Diane

Darris,
I think you were visiting "Booze-miser" when you last watched the show!
I'm Mr. Heat-miser, I'm Mr. Sun, I'm Mr. Green Christmas, I'm Mr. 101... friends call me 'Heat-Miser,' whatever I touch melts away in my clutch- I'm too much!
There are other verses of the song where with the words "heat blister," however- so I'll give you that. It is actually beginning to concern me that I actually remember all the words to these stupid songs, so I'm going to have to drag out my tape of "A Christmas Carol" and start watching some serious Christmas stuff (that is, if I can find it before I pack up the big TV, which is going with "her")!

I really like 'A Charlie Brown Christmas' because Linus gets to tell us the story of Christmas.
Another special I like has Fred Astaire narrating, but I can't remember the title.
The old animated 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas' is a hoot. I can't stand the movie.
