I know we love to complain about

our customers and co-workers alot so I thought it would be nice to show some gratitude as well. Here are 6 things I LOVE about my job:

    1) My awesome bosses who do NOT micro-manage and let us run the optical as we see fit
    2) My amazing co-workers who are like my family
    3) When a customer comes in and asks specifically for me to help them
    4) The feeling of making a sale over $1000
    5) Having a workplace where we have fun and is like a home away from home
    6) Having our owner or doctors release a patient from our office when they have crossed the line with one of us, it's awesome to know we are more important to them then the patients (not always the case in some offices)

    What's yours???:)

I have two questions for you:

    Where in Texas are you?

    &

    Are you hiring?
A lack of planning on your part DOES NOT constitute an emergency on mine!

    My top ten

This is why I do my job...

    10. The truck driver who comes in with the broken glasses and I'm able to fix them so he can get back on the road
    9. Helping the picky patient find the perfect pair of glasses that she absolutely adores
    8. When the picky patient refers her 6 best friends to me
    7. Watching my pediatric patients grow into fine young adults who come in just to say hi to me
    6. Fitting the -11.00 spex wearer with contacts for her 13th birthday and watching her face when she realizes that she really is beautiful
    5. The patient who waits 20 minutes for me to come back from lunch because I'm the only one who can fix his glass the way he wants them
    4. The grumpy crumudgeons who come in to have their glasses cleaned and adjusted, but are really there to tell me about their grandkids and talk
    3. Fitting the difficult and frustrated presbyopes into a multifocal that finally allows them to see!
    2. The patients who actually listen to what I say and gets all the eyewear they need to fit their needs
    1. Putting a pair of glasses on a child who has been having a hard time in school for the first time, and watching the look on his face when he finally sees the words on a book clearly or that he can see leaves instead of a green blob on top of the trees

Oh I love your last one!!!

I forgot that one. I'll even have the parents come over to the other side of the table with me so they can see their faces. It's priceless!!!

I work in Fort Worth and we are always looking for new family members. I swear I work in the best office anywhere.

What I miss about the industry:
    - The one on one, long sale with a client, where you sit down and get them the best product for them
    - Moving a client from an ugly pair of glasses to a great looking pair
    - Getting the "wow, my vision is great in these"
    - Making higher RXs look unbelievable
    - Having the reps come in with great new product
    - Having client after client come in to tell us that we have the best product in town
    - A client come in, sit down, and ask about lenses THEN frames
    - Having clients come back to get multiple pairs throughout the year, enjoying glasses as a fashion
    - Taking a challenge and turning it into success

    My People :)

I dispense to a lot of elderly patients. I love my job because when they have been "taken" by large companies who lure them in with a bogo sale, I am honest, and sympathetic with their needs and budgets and they really appreciate it. I get cookies and donuts made for me and lots of hugs! If my grandparents were still alive I would hope someone would help them out along the way. Thats what I love about my job, I get to help people see!

    wonderfullness

Having a patient sing you a Valentine's Day greeting on the phone (she's special).
Being called Miss Nancy by my younger patients.
    Fixing the "unfixable".
    Adusting the "lost cause".
Having your doctor ask for advice.
Being part of a great team.
Knowing I made someone SEE today.

    It's a challenging career, and it's fantabulous.
What a rollercoaster ride it is.
