    We are currently seeking a Technical Service Manager at our Ramsey, Minnesota location.

    Position Summary: The Technical Service Manager (TSM) is responsible for overseeing and fielding product issues/inquiries and providing expertise in the diagnosis and resolution of those issues/inquiries. The TSM provides technical support to customers and supports internal teams including sales, marketing, R&D and manufacturing. This includes managing a team of 4+ professionals, interfacing with quality team and overseeing an ophthalmic processing testing lab.

    The TSM will be accountable for both project and annual budgets. In addition, the TSM will support quality investigations, troubleshoot technical issues and provide general product support for marketing collateral.

    Primary responsibilities:
    ·Lead Technical Service Team and ensure all product-related issues are tracked, analyzed and resolved.
    ·Provide direct technical assistance to customers via the phone and onsite visits.
    ·Build and maintain relationships with key technical influencers within the ophthalmic community. This includes attending and participating in VCA and other industry events.
    ·Support new product development process (PDP). Provide voice of customer to ensure new products meet quality and processing norms.
    ·Oversee the protocol and completion of competitive audits. Duties include coordinating lenses to evaluate, outlining required tests and assisting in the analysis of the results.
    ·Participate in all cross-functional teams involved in quality assurance. Monitor, track and record all reported customer defects.

    Qualifications:
    High school degree required. Four to ten years related experience in a Technical Service function or overseeing an ophthalmic processing lab. Must have proven background in handling and fielding product related technical issues. A firm understanding of the ophthalmic lens industry is required. Knowledge base must include lens optics, lens processing, and industry quality standards. Understanding of direct surfacing is recommended.
