    RH Burton Auction...

Did anyone attend the RH Buton auction last Thursday? I just received the notice today, and am bumming I missed out on it.

I'm sure there were a lot of deals...

    Idea Glad I missed it!

In retrospect, it's a good thing I found out about it too late. I'm in the process of trying empty my warehouse, and that auction would have had the opposite effect.

I wonder if they auctioned off peoples equipment that was there for repair?

I heard a few people could not get their stuff like Phoroptors and lensometers that were there for repair or service....

I sent my wife and son to the auction. I had a class to attend and could not get away. When they first got there they found out that a man by the name of Dave placed a bid for the whole lot (and got it for a steal). Alot of people were really mad to have traveled so far without a chance to bid on something. But he did do some dealing with everybody that was there. We got some good deals on brand new in the box stuff. they had refracting lanes,Phoropters, pupilometers, slit lamps, lensometers, tonometers, and a whole lot more. Wish I had alot more money to spend.

I'll bet he made out fine!

People always underestimate how little it takes to win when going bulk bid.

I once bought the entire contents of a chair manufacturing company in Pa (many truckloads) for a few thousand dollars. Most of the people there were only interested in a few pieces, and so no reason to place a bulk bid. I ended up paying for everything, plus much more before we even started loading the trucks.

Yes he did. I'm sure he was able to pay the whole thing off with extra cash in his pocket and still have a semi load or two of product still to sale.
