I hear Essilor is coming out with an imbibed "dychloric" lens to take the place of (iodine based) polarized lenses.
Have you heard about it? If so what.

Dichroics are high in transmission and are best for dark saturated colors

The dichroric filter can be used to manipulate the wavelengths of transmitted light, but not its orientation/polarization. Is it thought that the polarizing effect of these lenses is different from before, or only the tinting of these lenses?

I wonder if they will be available in 360 w/AvanCriPaytooMuchGuard AR coating?

As an aside - Chris, you seem to imply that "SPECIAL FX® LIGHTING" invented this technology
Wiki has a different take though:

Unless NASA used these guys back in the 60's. Their site states they haven't been at it even twenty years yet though so that's not really a possibility. Must have been a different contractor why really "invented" the tech after all. Perhaps its all just semantics and really not important.
I haven't heard any news on these lenses from our E rep to date, but perhaps something is coming down the pike...
Uilleann..........picking on me again
I did not search for the original inventor, if I had, I would have spent maybe a couple hours and found him or maybe not.
However I found something that was kind of explanatory, which is good enough to see before our friends throw their latest invention at their admirers feet.
And furthermore concerning your above post about FX Lightning, I do not imply anything with the exception that they seem to be using the latest ROLISSE invention ahead of the presentation date to the optical.
Also if you want to make those filters into Polaroid..............sandwich them with a filter in between. Maybe Doc in China can do that for less money than ROLISSE can in Thailand.

Just love OptiDirt
Cool Chris - I think I may have grossly misunderstood your earlier post. Appologies.
The Special FX guys are a Utah company so perhaps I can put out a few feelers here and get a bit more dirt if you're interested. All the best!
Could anyone tell me what are the best tints for high index lenses? I´m trying to start production of 1.6 tinted lenses and I have many problems with my tints for normal lenses....
