    Calibrating Lensometers

We're interested in finding something to calibrate our Marco lensometer. In the past I have used a masterguage from Younger but I'm interested in knowing if theres something newer or more accurate. My biggest concern is the placement of the dot's when spotting a lense we seem to be favoring one side over the other and I cant be sure which one is correct. If I had my way we'd be using a good old B&L vertometer, but that aint gonna happen anytime soon. Any input would be appreciated

To see if your lensometer markers are calibrated:

Dot a sphero-cylinder blank, then turn it 180 degrees and redot. Should match up.

Maybe I just cant see the trees for the forest but if you do this and they dont match, which is the case with our piece of junk Marco, how do you know which way to move the spots. Surely theres an accurate way of centering the spots I'm fairly certain there off to the left but how can I be sure???
