tool to measure vertex, panto, and wrap

as we are getting mroe and more involved with free form lenses, we now see the need for a good, reasonable way for everyone to take these measurements.

does anyone have anything they like or an easier way then just eyeballing it with a PD stick?

found the tool with hilco, but that was more then we were expecting, especially since we need 3-4.

    Thanks!!

Zeiss has something available for their Individual lens. I'll see if I can find a linky.

our rep showed that to us, little plastic thing with a little dial indecator.

i was hoping to find something alittle more fool-proof it seems like that one is pretty subjective.

but it may be our best option.

Fezz consider it an early birthday gift. The thing is great, I can't believe they haven't released this thing in the US, just for posterities sake alone the thing gets pulled out every now and again and for that patient that questions what your doing, this ruler will shut them up quickly. Oh and it gets the job done as well.:D

Not the most eloquent choice of words but you get what I mean, "instill confidence". :bbg:

Weird. Essilor gave us one of these a while back. I had no idea it was something you'd have to buy.

our zeiss rep said he is just going to buy us a distometer, i showed him the essilor tool so he can look into that too, looks easier to use.

Zeiss provided some tools for it, but i was looking for something alittle more similar to the Essilor gadget.

we may consider doing an I terminal at some point anyway

    Hey Lisa Wilson,

Is your measuring device a handheld unit?

It is not handheld. It is an imager that mounts to the dispensing table. Capture a side view of the patient wearing the frame and our software calculates the measurements. It also does pd's and seg heights etc. Pictures of the unit are on the web site at www.cyber-imaging.com

I usually just attach a protractor to the side of their head with a roll of duct tape. So far it's been fool proof. :D
