YOUNGER OPTICS RECEIVES 3 AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE AT THE 2008 OLA
(TORRANCE, CA — November 2008) Younger Optics was honored with 3 OLA Awards of Excellence at the most recent OLA meeting (held November 6 - 8 in Nashville, Tennessee), bringing the company up to a total of 18 Awards, including the first award ever presented in 1987.

“OLA believes it is important to recognize the Ophthalmic Industry suppliers who have made an outstanding contribution to the laboratory community and allied professions. An OLA Award of Excellence is the most prestigious award our industry offers,” said Barney Dougher, OLA President.

Two of the awards received this year recognized Younger’s newest product line: Drivewear® lenses, Activated by Transitions®. These categories included Best in Lens Materials: Drivewear in Polycarbonate, and Best in Marketing: Drivewear Informational Videos (a 60 second loop for the patient waiting room, and a 3 minute training video for Eyecare Professionals). The third award was for Best in Lens Design: Image Wrap™ Decentered Design (available in NuPolar® Gray Polycarbonate).

“We are thrilled and very thankful to be recognized by the optical industry by these awards,” said Younger Optics President, David Rips. “It is our tradition - and our goal - to bring innovative products to the industry that help make your company successful.”

Irving Rips, founder of Younger Optics, was also honored posthumously at the 2008 OLA with an induction into the Hall of Fame Optical Pioneers; David Rips proudly accepted the award on his father’s behalf.
