    Theraputic dyes

Question. I need a yellow 450 for a patient, the problem is I was going to add this tint on for free, and yet it's about 24.95 a bottle and only has a life in the tint unit of so long SO, what I was wondering is... Does anyone know if it's possible to preserve the dye once it's diluted so that I can use it again on another patient, I might not need it again perhaps for another month or two. Will it go bad if I let it cool down and put it in a container and store til needed again?

    Thanks
    Paula

That's the problem with those - short shelflife, high cost, infrequent use. Gotta charge.

I just had a call the other day from an optician who asked me why the MicroTint black dye was tinting spotty. My answer was that the conditioner was probably not working no more and he ordered one.

When we invoiced him we checked his last order. It was a starter kit he had purchased in May 2007.

This actually brings it to the fact that he has been tinting with the same dyes for one and a half years with the same dyes.

(Mind you that he said he did not do much tinting, but that still means, that the shelf life of MicroTints has only to do with the time the dyes have been under heat, and that is only a couple of minutes at a time)

Above post by DragonLensmanWV is right .........................provided you stick with the old conventional way of tinting. :bbg:
