We currently have an AR Coating Process Lead career opportunity at our Dallas, TX location.

POSITION PURPOSE

Supervises the implementation of OTG AR Coating projects and processes and assists the Process Engineer with their execution. With minimal supervision, serves as a liaison between vendors, project engineers and lab management to ensure the timely completion of assigned AR Coating projects. Normally is the sole representative from the Operation & Technologies Group on-site.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

▪ Serves as the day-to-day on-site supervisor for the equipment and/or process installation and the primary contact for the customer.
▪ Specializes in the installation, testing, troubleshooting and modification of all types of AR coating equipment.
▪ Ensures proper installation and minimal disruption to lab service or productivity, including: installation, setup, validation and training, as required.
▪ Leads by example an obsession for customer service through own actions. Builds strong partnerships with customers to understand their needs and deliver a top quality product. Focuses team on monitoring changes in project plan to minimize disruptions to lab production.
▪ Assists with the development of equipment requirements and order lists.
▪ Responsible for ensuring ordering of project supplies, equipment and materials is completed.
▪ Responsible for coordinating shipments and deliveries of all project materials.
▪ Partners with Process Engineer to ensure project tasks are completed according to established project plan through the management of risks and opportunities.
▪ Notifies Process Engineer of issues that may cause delays or deviations to the project plan.
▪ Records and reports project status through clear and concise communication.
▪ Trains lab personnel on new equipment and processes to an acceptable level of proficiency, as required.
▪ Works within departmental budgets.
▪ Completes tasks in the agreed time frame.
▪ Performs other duties as assigned by manager.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

▪ Minimum 5 years proven experience in the assembly, set-up, maintenance and operation of vacuum coating equipment and processes required - Optical Laboratory experience desired
▪ Demonstrated project experience with proven success when working in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
▪ Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective relationships across a broad range of functions within the organization
▪ Demonstrated leadership capability through a history of increased responsibilities in the work environment
▪ Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills required - MS Excel, MS Word and MS Project
▪ Highly developed communication and conflict resolution skills
▪ Highly developed problem solving skills, with emphasis on customer satisfaction
▪ Highly developed follow-through and interpersonal relationship skills
▪ Strong organizational and record keeping skills
▪ Strong mechanical aptitude
▪ Ability to work and lead effectively in a fast paced dynamic environment
▪ Ability to direct and monitor multiple projects and tasks
▪ Must be self-directed and goal-oriented
▪ Must be willing to travel 95% of the time
