    Opticare Vision Plans

I did a search and only found a few references to the opticare vision plan but nothing helpful. Does anyone know anything about this vision plan? Any info at would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the link, but I am wondering if anyone actually works with this plan. If you look at Spectera's website they basically say how great they are, but in reality they are one of the most evil plans out there. I want to see if anyone who works with them has an opinion about them.

    do not use them

We have VSP so we already lose enough with just them.

I am on the Opticare provider panel and have found it esteems the mutual interests of both the patient and provider much fairer than most other third party plans.

I just wanted to throw in my .02 cents here in reference to the Spectera comment. I whole-heartedly agree! Spectera makes Value Vision III look like a walk in the park at times! We had a patient who called back today over a "billing" issue. Guy hasn't been to us in 10+ years but decides to come back to our office. This guy calls today, saying there is a "billing dispute" which really equates to this man fighting with the insurance company, which happens to be SpectERRIBLE, so DR will give him back his contact lens fitting fee (which included starter pair and follow up visit) which the pt paid $70 for. This guy wants Acuvue Advance CLs ONLY, and not to mention, he has 2 Specterrible plans so he feels as if he is "entitled" to forgo the 70 dollar CL fitting fee, even though everyone ELSE pays for it. So DR will have to refund this jerk his 70 dollars, and using his Spectera plans, DR gets reimbursed 25 dollars total for giving this guy 4 boxes of AV ADV CLS.:angry::angry: I swear, why did he even bother to come back after 11 years? Who needs that kind of trouble from one person? :hammer:
