I'm pretty sure you have to keep track of that yourself. NYS can spotcheck you. It's up to you to maintain documentation so that you can prove you have the required credits.

Speaking of CE credits in New York...

If a person is NOT practicing in New York, but maintains a NY license, do they need to continue to have CE's?

I am pretty sure that so long as you have an active license, you must take CE and be able to prove it. I don't exactly remember how much, but it is either 10 or 12 credits per year or every time you renew your license, which I think is every three years.

You should check the NYS Professions website or call them in the morning. I would start keeping track of my credits from this day forward.

I just looked it up...you need 18 credits in a 3 year period. You need 20 hours if you are CL licensed with at least 10 hrs in CLs.

As to total or list of CE credits you better keep your own. Suppisingly neither the ABO, The NCLE, the CLSA or any other organisation that presumes to be a anthority or regulation body of these tests keeps records beyond one year. I tried several times to get a list mine which have gotten separated through various job, living quarters and wife changes figureing I had enough to qualify for several degrees...
    Got told: Sorry Charlie.
