Nice up-dated look.
I think the update was needed. I think it looks nice! But the first picture of the man and the woman reminds me of a Lenscrafters Ad. I dunno why?!?! :hammer:
Ok, Ok, I'll admit I voted who cares. I for one, took and passed my ABO in 1975, and let it lapse a few years later. The reason being, I did not see it going anywhere soon. Thirty three years later, and still no real clout.
Don't get me wrong here. I believe that we as opticians can not compete with the other O's money. I can compete just fine with them for quality eyewear but not for better recognition. More education and higher requirements = more money. I am all for better education, licensing, and skilled opticians, but with almost 30 states being able to hire the girl at the ice cream store, and nows she's an "optician" will not allow us to move forward as a profession.
I am not angry, I have had a very good career as an optician. This is my 33rd year. I had someone tell me early on, your will never be unemployed, but you will never be rich. After all these years, still true.
PS: Still love what I do, and have fun doing it.
Candidates always have questions on what they will be asked on the exam. For the ABO exam the content areas are 81% on analyzing and interpreting prescriptions, 53% on fitting and dispensing spectacles and other ophthalmic devices, and 16% on the use of standard ophthalmic equipment.
I should have been a proofreader.
for who cares. Other than that, no comment.

Days where my gratitude exceed my expectations are very good days!
Meh.
Underwhelming.
Kinda like my certification.
It has become an easy-to-navigate site with clear text and readability. No stupid Flash or similar features to slow things down for most of us dial-up users.
I like the new site and organization of it. Clean layout.. I didn't look at it completely but I wish they had an area that would allow people to download the logos so that they can have access to them when needed for printing materials.
When I have more time I will look further and send them a message about my logo comment.
:D
I'm not sure why they picked that icky picture to head the "Why be certified" column, but I couldn't bring myself to read the text with that creepy eyeball!
Hey, K123etc--you're right! What a hoot! Is anyone going to tell them?
