Who is that?
Glasses way too big for her.
But WOW, nice teeth.
K, I know now. I saw other picks of her.
Imo, horrible pick and proves that McCain is out of touch.
i hate to ask this, but why is she a horrible choice? I understand if we need to move this
christina
Yeah, we may as well cut these from the topic and move them.
Why is she a good choice?
We have to keep something very important here, with McCain's age and potential assassination attempts that could happen on Obama, the VP choice is very important.
What experience does she have? If 10 years in the Senate makes Barack a novice, what does this make her? She has not even gotten her feet warmed in the governorship. Plus, she has already had controversy made of her in her first two years.
So what does she bring to the team? Clearly, McCain is just hoping that some Hillary descenders will vote for her. Which to me shows that McCain is more out of touch than I originally believed.
Is there anyone that is actually qualified??
Hey
She is running her state and bucking the system there. She is also a good example of a strong women republican who is up and coming. As another one of the those(not in the political arena)I find her refreshing and a good challenger. Her history is interesting.

ps it still doesn't show me how McCain is out of touch..(I'm a little slow)
Because, I believe, the only reason why he picked her is because she is a women. Hence, to take voters away from Hillary. I think it insults the intelligence of women, but he made his bed.
Also, two years (not even) is not enough to show the struggles of time. At least let her finish a term.
Although I certainly hope McCain makes his own bed, I’m not sure a person’s housekeeping has anything to do with their ability to run the country. But I could be wrong…
Yep, it does appear that the only reason McCain could have possible picked Gov. Palin was because she is a woman and he wanted to take voters away from Hillary who isn’t even in the running. And here I thought Hillary gave all of those “gals” specific instructions to vote for Obama.
Perhaps McCain is hoping that by selecting Gov. Palin it would insure he wins the State of Alaska whose population is only 100,000 and who has always been one of those “red” states.
Or maybe he was just trying to steal the thunder from Obama’s acceptance speech at last night’s climatic ending. A speech that some of us had already heard before when he addressed the citizens in Germany.
It’s very doubtful that the fact that she is “pro-life”, supports the traditional definition of marriage, has an 85% approval rating among both Dems and Reps in Alaska, is young and energetic and has already shown her skill in bucking the current political system had any effect on his choice.
John, John, John, whatever were you thinking when you selected a person who has a long history of run-ins with the GOP hierarchy in Alaska. Someone who even had the audacity to expose a fellow GOP commission for ethical violations. And a fiscal conservative to boot.
Heaven help us if we end up with someone in Washington who doesn’t care what party you belong to when it comes to corruption and graft. Who understands what family values are really all about (outdated that they may be.)
Why couldn’t you have selected a “Washington good ole boy” instead of someone who might have the ability to oversee the Senate without being mired in the garbage of the beltway politics. G..d help us if we end up with someone in office who wants to “change” that.

Debt Crisis 2011: All the ostensible nobility in the world notwithstanding, we have run out of other people's money to spend.
Gee, now that McCain has his own "Celebrity" maybe he'll stop those idiotic ads.

Not anyone that people will actually vote for.
I was hoping against hope McCain would select Sen. Lieberman as a running mate. I just liked the idea that a man who was kicked out of his own party (the only reason I can come up with is because he is actually thoughtful and reasonable) running with a GOP candidate.
Instead, we get an idealistic, fresh face in Gov. Palin. As for her qualification to be President, I think she could handle the job. She's already been the chief executive of Alaska, and no one is complaining about her performance there.
Of course, people who despise Sen. McCain would have found faults with whomever he selected (and vice versa). Interesting to note, however, that- in a race where one of the candidates is talking about "change-" the only person who is truly NOT the "typical politician" is on the other side.
I may have found fault with anyone he chose, but that's a given since I disagree with McCain. Why would he choose a running mate a liberal would like?
As far as the "typical politician" comment - that's subjective. Obama isn't a "typical politician" to me, personally, as he makes me hopeful about the future of the US. No other politician has done that for me before.
