I'm so frustrated that I'm ready to punch something
I'm trying to set up a D-Link wireless N router on my own (that's probably my problem right there). The problem is that the guide assumes that there's an external modem, which I don't have. So it wants me to remove the cable from the modem and put it in one of the LAN ports before I turn the power on the router. No can do. I've tried linking the notebook directly from the network connector to the LAN port, but that doesn't work. So I'm stuck. And the manual that came with it is no help whatsoever.
Is there a way to set this up using the WLAN card that's in the notebook?
