We currently have a Coating Group Lead career opportunity at our Baltimore, MD location.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
Responsible for all operations and activities related to the coating of Reflection Free lenses.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Planning and Scheduling
Plan and schedule daily work to include customer lenses, inspection, cleaning and operations
Determine manpower needs in each area to meet schedule requirements
Maintain continual checks of periodic maintenance records to be sure scheduled are followed.

2. Materials and Inventory Control
Determine production supply requirements and issue purchase requisitions for needed items.
Keep records or material usage to minimize waste.
Maintain perpetual inventory record on critical supplies and repair parts.

3. Production Process
Provide management direction and support to all personnel to insure an efficient production operation
Maintain continual follow-up program to insure adherence to procedures and organization plans.

4. Quality Control
Adhere to established quality practices and standards
Maintain appropriate Quality records

5. Customer Service
Provide direct customer service support for RX program
Coordinate directly with customer on Quality problems

6. Training
Set-up training procedures for all Reflection Free operations
Conduct comprehensive training for all new operations
Prepare written performance evaluation and discuss progress with each employee

7. Job Assignments
Assign jobs based on employees’ skills and production requirements

8. Safety and Housekeeping
Enforce plant safety rules at all times
Communicate to employees the reasons for safety rules and the need to protective equipment
Initiate proper action against employees who fail to comply with rules
Prepare accident report as soon as possible after an accident and take corrective action to prevent recurrence
Establish and enforce good housekeeping practices.

9. Employee Relations
Apply positive human relation approaches in managing work force
Take an active interest in all workers and in the jobs they are doing
Make certain workers are properly trained and understand what is required of them
Maintain employee time records
Administer company policy, and provide timely counseling as required
Discharge subject to review and final approval of the Employee Relations and Plant Manager.


QUALIFICATIONS
§ 3-5 years of direct supervision experience in a technical fast paced manufacturing environment
§ Demonstrated human relation and communication skills
§ Leadership skills with a team player perspective
§ A degree in a technical discipline or management a plus.
