I was just wondering because one of our friends that was about to sign up to be a VSP provider said it was stated on the contract that you have to accept Medicare. If you aren't signed up with Medicare they give you one year to do so. I thought maybe I had read it wrong.
No. We are not a medicare provider and have been a VSP provider for many years. Maybe it's a new rule(big surprise). In any case you can sign up for a medicare provider number and simply not participate in medicare if you choose.
