    a registered optician? Didn't know there was such a thing in Cailfornia, but then again, I don't know much about the "goings on" in that state either.

    Wow, how old is that E! segment? Most of those movies cited are 15 years old. What is really interesting is googling her name. Seems to have an aura of controversy around her.

    Yes, California has licensed opticians. I have been licensed here for 35 years. It used to require (this is years ago) 3 signatures from M.D.'s attesting to at least 3 years experience fitting glasses, but now requires only ABO certification.

    We are supposed to accumulate CE credits to keep our licenses, but I find much faster, simpler, and cheaper to retake the exam on occasion. It is also less frustrating than trying to find classes beyond entry level.

    she did not say she was licensed, however, she said she was "registered."
