Performance Optician Software Corp Subsidiary, OptiCenter(TM) launching One Stop Shop for Eye Care Industry
MONTREAL, July 17 /CNW/ - (OPT: CDNX) Massimo Barone, President of Performance Optician Software Corp. is pleased to announce the launch of the OptiCenter a new supply chain management model for the North American eye care industry. OptiCenter is a wholly owned subsidiary of Performance Optician Software Corp. incorporated in the State of Delaware, USA with operating headquarters in Atlanta. Eye care industry veteran, Bruce Baillio, Vice President of US Business Development for Performance, spearheads the OptiCenter. Baillio's first task will be to recruit the OptiCenter management team from among the eye care industries leading business innovators.
"The key to the OptiCenter's success will be in adding value to both the eye care professional (ECP) and vendor by simplifying the process of ordering supplies and services without changing current ordering practices," Baillio said. "Most ordering is done using phone or fax and we don't intend to change that, at least not right away. This is one of the key features that distinguishes us from other technology based procurement concepts."

In the roll out of OptiCenter's first phase, eye care professionals will be able to order frames, lenses, contact lenses and supplies through a single 800 number instead of having to call multiple vendors. OptiCenter has engaged EC Support; the Montreal based Customer Relations Management recently acquired by Performance to handle all its ordering services. Consolidated ordering brings tremendous time savings to the ECP enabling them to spend more time with their clients, increase their sales, and promote higher profit goods and services.

A pilot project involving the 1st Eye Care Group in Dallas, Texas is currently in progress. A non-binding letter of intent has been signed with the group that represents 87 practices throughout the State of Texas. Negotiations with similar groups of ECP's are currently underway in Arizona and Utah.

OptiCenter intends to benefit optical vendors and suppliers as well. Vendors will be guaranteed prompt payment on all accounts and significant cost savings will be made possible through single-source ordering. "Down the road our Call Center's fully integrated computer platform will be able to provide participating vendors with the benefits of transaction-based data mining that will give them never before seen opportunities to readjust to shifts in the market," according to Baillio.

Additionally, OptiCenter's sophisticated Call Center technology uniquely enables it to offer targeted marketing opportunities to vendors, making it possible to effectively reach practitioners with new marketing campaigns, product rollouts and special promos.

The second phase of the OptiCenter roll-out will involve engaging the services of a state of the art, centralized order fulfillment center that will radically reduce shipping costs for the eye care professional. Through consolidated fulfillment eye care professionals will get one consolidated bill from one place and all their orders from multiple vendors will come in one box.
