My kappa is dripping water. Upon evaluation, hood up, it seems to be coming from the wheel shaft gasket. Anyone know how difficult to fix this?? Does not appear to be an easy thing to get to. Ideas please.

I think you could be refering to either part:
CH6037 (O-ring)
N9531P (Scraper Ring)
If it is the O-ring your not doing to bad as you have to remove the wheels and just replace, but if it's the scraper it looks by the schematics you may need to remove the grooving system to get to it. I would probably try the O-ring first and you're more than likely going to have to replace it anyway so nows better than never. I know the gerber tech line isn't gonna be much help so if you need any drawings or schematics just PM me your fax number.

It is the gasket that is on the grooving/pin bevel support arm that leaks. Don't try to change it because you can't, as it is put on the support arm before the gear rack is pressed on permanently.
The reason it leaks is because the gasket's inside diameter was enlarged slighty when the drilling function was added to the Kappa to eliviate drag when the drill moves into the lens.
Essilor's fix to the leak was to add a plastic drip pan to the underside of the edger to catch the water and direct it into the drain hose.
If you follow the drip inside the edger with the cover up, you will see that it flows on the outside of the white plastic grinding chamber and down the outside of the drain hose. It should not be leaking into the machine.
If you would like a drain pan, PM me and I will send one to you at no charge.
