Does anyone have any comments on the new Zeiss Lantal 1.9 for use in the Gradal Top pal?

    Thanks in advance!

Have made one pair in single vision, very impressive, interesting reflections though, I highly recommend an AR with this baby.

We do quite a few s/v 1.9 index, around 5 pairs a week not ziess though we use our own (cheaper) but as matthew said they need a ar coat on. Have no problems with them but they do weigh a lot so get a small frame. Dont know about 1.9 pals though.

Yes we've done a couple of pairs of Gradal 1.9 and very successful, very expensive, very thin, but then (and sorry to rub it in) we had them worked to German Standard of 1.0mm

Apart from these we're doing about a pair a week of S/V... there are a lot of myopes around who are prepared to pay for the thinnest possible lenses......thank goodness!

    AR is a must...

    All best, Clive

1.9 index should be worked that thin, the max thickness we will send out for these is 1.3 mm and 99% have an AR coat as well just the odd one thats in a hurry, that will take the lenses without an AR. What sort of price do you in america pay for these lenses?

I am a Zeiss Lens Rep in Maryland. There are two High Index Glass materials available.
Gradal Top(PAL) is available in 1.8 Index glass. 1.9 Index is only available in SV.
Both are available up to -20D. A waiver is required by the examining DR, since these lenses are not drop-ball tested in US. CT is only available 1.0mm ARC is a must. For more info check out website www.zeiss.com or call 800-338-2984.
