    hello there Eyedude;

    I don't believe you will find any one who can solder Titanium. I believe it is put together with Lasers. Jim Seebach

    I thought titanium frames could not be soldered, good luck in finding someone. I'd also like to know if someone has had success in soldering titanium. Rich R

    You are all correct. Titanium by conventional methods cannot be soldered. However, it can be welded if you have a vacuum chamber. I know of a machine that could weld titanium. Call the owner of Vigor, he may be able to direct you to who has one of these machines. Hilco may also be able to also.

    Yes, using Argon gas to solder titanium is
    very popular in Japan. Titanium also can be welded by 200 watt laser with cooler.
    Tanaka optical industry in Fukui, Japan, is very expert about soldering titanium. Call Univeral Laser in Arizona for welding titanium. No matter who you try, you will receive a well "BURN" metal back. Apply polishing with silk made buffing wheel only for titanium material.

    You may also solder titanium yourself. Send your frame to Highland Plating Company in Hollywood, California, and ask them to plate a huge nickel by vaccum process, then you sure can solder titanium together by 10 dollars worth of jewler's torch. I apologize for not having their numbers on hand.

    Good Luck!

    ACCORDINGLY, THEY CHARGE $50 DOLLARS PER SPOT
    WELD, ANOTHER $100 MIN. TO PLATE TITANIUM.
    IT IS CHEAPER TO BUY A NEW FRAME IN REALITY, NOT UNLESS THE END USER LOVES THE PIECE TO DEATH.
