    King Arthur is Family.

I had an uncle which has been tryign to get into the country for almost 25 years finally get a visa, it's not easy living in Syria and having numerous trips to mother Russia on your passport and gettign a US visa, but my cousin got him in. Anyway turns out a second or third cousin of ours is King Arthur, or better known as Arthur Abraheem the german boxer, turns out in Europe our family has a total of 4 professional boxers. It was awesome to see family I never even knew I had.

    Harry,

Congrats on picking up the family line like that. I have been searching through databases for about 6 years and haven't found that much about mine.

Also, if I had known about the boxers in your family, I wouldn't have made fun of your goatee in that other post.

    Bob:cheers:

Or Armenian. That part of the world is riddled with bullets and every one tends to migrate to get out of the bullet ridden zones. I still have family in Syria, Lebanon, and Armenia.

Depending on your nationality you could go to your church to hunt the line down. Because of the genocide in our family their was only two branches that survived and they split (my grandfather didn't even know he had a brother). What me and my cousin found out was since our culture is engrained in the church, we were able to find out info from baptismal papers, and wedding certificates through our church. It wasn't easy and yes the clergy needs to have their palms greased if you want to get things done in any sort of a hurry. I find that this is usually teh best way to go about it. Another avenue is the embassey in DC, every countries got one and they could get you in contact with someone inthe motherland that would open more doors. It ain't easy but it's worth it.

    Congrats Harry !!!

At least you have had luck in finding out some things about your family. My grandparents escaped Turkey because of the genocide, but wouldn't you know it, they wound up at Ellis Island and the spelling of their last names were changed.

I even looked through the rosters of Ellis Island online without any luck.

If everyone that said they were there actually was there, there would have been two million there instead of a half million.

My dad wouldn't let me go to Woodstock. Two of my friends went though, one had just gotten some knee-high fringed suede boots which she wore and brought back max muddy. Kept going on about "Woodstock Mud" and such and swore to never clean them.
