PPG INDUSTRIES ANNOUNCES “TRIVEX. TRUE TO LIFE.” MARKETING MATERIALS
NEW YORK, April 11, 2008 — PPG Industries, Inc. has introduced new marketing materials for Trivex® lens material that will help eyecare professionals communicate the product’s unique benefits to consumers, placing the features of the material in context with the busy lives of today’s patients. The “Trivex. True to Life.” theming will focus on how the lens material provides consumers with exceptional performance and practicality in real life, delivering the sharp visual quality prescribed, plus the visual protection, comfort and fashion that their active lifestyles call for.

“Lives that may seem ordinary are actually quite extraordinary, and require extraordinary eyewear to meet the multitude of demands placed on our eyes throughout the day,” said Nathan Troxell, marketing manager, optical materials, PPG Industries. “That’s why eyecare professionals go to great lengths to assure that their patients are getting the best balance of acute vision quality, comfort and protection for their lifestyle, and why we’re adopting the ‘Trivex. True to Life’ messaging for our new materials.”

New marketing materials highlighting the “True to Life” message include professional and consumer brochures about Trivex material, as well as a poster for display in-office. The brochures feature a section that can be customized by labs and lens caster partners prior to distribution to their eyecare professional customers, as well as a section for eyecare professionals use to personalize the materials for use in practice or delivery directly to their patients. All pieces will utilize new imagery and stress that with Trivex material, consumers will experience an extraordinary lens doesn’t just do one thing well – it’s designed to perform exceptionally well in all areas, under all circumstances. Materials and customization can be requested by contacting PPG customer service at (800) 323-2487.

Trivex material delivers optimal visual acuity while also providing exceptional impact resistance and light-weight comfort. The tensile strength of the product also makes it ideal for three-piece and semi-rimless frames, providing flexibility in style choices. Its compatibility with premium lens products, such as anti-reflective coatings, Transitions® lenses, digital progressives and performance sun lenses, helps to enhance vision indoors and outdoors.

According to Troxell, “by recommending Trivex – with help from the latest messaging and materials – eyecare professionals can also enhance their own real-life practices by preserving the integrity of each patient’s vision and fashion, while meeting the special needs of their active lives.”
