    US vision Lux buy out

Has anyone heard any updates on how this buy out is progressing? Very curious as I work for US vision.

I talked to some people I know at Sears and they said the only thing they heard was Lux had sold the BJ's brand to US vision and no longer run it. From what they told me the profit margins at BJ's were just too low. That's all they could tell me.

Glendora put out a release a few weeks ago that said US Vision bought the 300 store chain and is training the new personnel.

    Big Smile

Actually, there is only 156 stores. I work for BJ's and since we got rid of the evil empire ( LUX ) everything is moving in a more positive direction. USV truly has a great sense of organization and in a lot of ways more evolved than LUX. I am being treated a lot better and my sales have soared................

Now who would have thunk that, Lux not moving in a positive direction. As I said before when the dollars aren't there Lux does not want any part of it. They want those 750,000.00 stores and up not the 250,000 to 350,000 stores to them it's just not profitable enough to hold on too.

I'll have to review that release again. There is merit in having market coverage in smaller areas with smaller sales volumes instead of going for the "BIG KILLS. It's been working well here in Valdosta. We opened in November 07.

All I can say from talking too some people at LC if one of there stores gets to 750k and they can't turn it around, help is let go and they trim as far as they can too turn it back around to a 1mil or more store. now my friends at their Sears brand are all running scared. They don't know whether they will have a job or their hours slashed in half because they tell me Sears is not doing what LUX expected. Business is down and foot traffic is off. So making their plan is more difficult.

    just my take
