    I sold some -35's

I am very interested to see how these turn out. Not sure but I'm pretty certain she must have had a stroke. Duplicating her old lens design that was purchased elsewhere which is a high index plastic bi concave with higher end AR. This job isn't started yet but if this customer walked into your store what would you not forget to do? Of course the frame choice is absolutely stellar perfect because I'm good like that. :)

Match PD's , OC ht, Base Curve, Sphere and Cross curves and check vertex distance. On Dispense I would check pano tilt and face form.

Did my first penlight PD in a long time. Fortunately she's narrow but as for checking BC how can you do that on a bi concave? :)

Matched panto and face form and pre adjusted nose pads with an imaginary really thick lens in there. OC heights varied which is why we think it was partially a stroke induced rx.

    What else?

My lens clock reads in minus also. I would read it at the OC.

If the OC's vary match them.

I would give the surfacing lab the CT also, with all other parameters I dont think the CT would make a difference.

Are you sure BI-Concave's especally Bi-Con. FT's are avilabile in Hi-Index?

FT's? I read that as flat tops. This is a single vision rx.

    Got the Rx.

Since the rx is so far over the limits of my tools in my office, I would have the un-lucky surface lab match all the perameters I mentioned earlier.

How much useable vision does this pt. have?? I would guess she is not seeing 20/20.

No information on that at all. I'm guessing it's minimal at best although when she took her glasses off she told me she could see just fine as she knowcked half of our frames onto the floor.

too funny.. I was just wondering what you do at dispense usually I just ask the patient if everything seems clear. you might have to paint a 2 story "E" on the building next door.

Dispensing is so suggestive. YEAH I CAN SEE and tey come in a week later because they can't. Usually just a minor adjustment but this lady with the wacky vision has made me think a lot about adaption etc...

Dragon: Yes, you can fit such Rx's, edge thickness can be delt with with a hyperflange or several other designs. Have done this a few times, won't say it isn't challenging but that's why they have Opticians.

I m assuming Chip you mean hard contact? If so how many curves would you put on? I know I"ve seen 3 on one with a blended curve but with a -35 would think it to be a little tricky.

This lady is probably not good to go for contacts. Part of the reason we thought she might have had a stroke (or many) is that she was rather slumped and did not seem to have much coordination.

We had a patient that wore a presciption of about this power. She was fairly young, in her 30's. Her contacts were about a -29. They were soft custom lenses and she saw 20/40 with them.

We made her a pair of eyeglasses that were about a -32. They were extremely ugly. I used lenses from our trial kit to check the rx. She was unable to wear the glasses, however.

I would love to see what the glasses look like when you get them made for this woman.

We just had EPIC Labs do a -35.50 with +1.5 cyl OD and -36.50 OS.
They used a myo-disc in 1.66 index. Very spendy, but it looked great (considering the RX). 1-800-666-4513

Ok Chris I'll bite, what type of lenticular would you have used instead of a bi-con or myo-disc?
