Aprelium "Abyss" Web Server software: any users?

Are there any OptiBoarders that are using one of the Abyss Web Server software packages from Aprelium?

I think it would be easy to use if I could get past the first one or two little stumbling blocks--probably because I am a complete "newbie" as far as implementing Web server capabilities.

are you trying to host sites onthe internet, or within yourlocal network.

We use WAMP internally, and Apache on servers. WAAMP is superb - it nativly has PHP, SQL, and you can easily set up a test site for Joomla for example, and do the php editing thing localy on the files and see results instantly

Hi Richard.. nice to "see" you again!

I got past my little software problems. That post was a long time ago.

I have not implemented a full up website. Only the facility where if I put a hyperlink in one of my posts (for example) and if someone clicks on it they download a file across the Internet from my hard drive. A way of using my own hard drive to host audio and image content for my message board posts.

I would be happy to donate some "FTP space on a dead fast UK based server of mine" on a per user basis. Board users will have to e-mail me thier detials, i would then check they are indeed a genuin OB user, and I will assign them a username and password for the space. Fair use and "no smutty stuff" cavets of course
