two licenses in a year WOOOHOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im just giving myself a pat on the back in a place where others might be excited as well (my boss seems mad for some reason) does anyone know how much opticians in SC make ??

Most Licensed Opticians that I know in any state (FL, NC, GA, etc.) start out making a minimum of $20 an hour, some get more depending on the area and your experience. Talk to some other local Opticians in your area to get a more accurate figure. Don't ever sell yourself short. If you're current employer is not willing to pay you accordingly, then tell him/her that you are going to start looking elsewhere. However, give him/her the chance to make you an offer. Let your employer know what the going rate is for Licensed Opticians in your area. Who knows, he/she may be able to make you a good offer and you wouldn't even have to change jobs.

Good luck in SC! You should be able to find many jobs and you honestly should be able to choose your employer. You licensure is an asset!!! There are some websites that discuss avg income. I did a search online for my position and it told me a lot. Of course, I adjusted it for NC.

I would think it depends on where in SC also. I'm in Beaufort/HHI area and seem to do ok. But still, not enough.
