I e-mailed the Gerber reps about a weird edger error that happened to me last week. I thought I'd put it up on Optiboard to see if anyone had any idea what happened. It is Error A59 and it happened while putting the safety bevel on a pair of high minus (-10.00 range) polycarb lenses. Error A59 is described in the user manual as "The Grooving Wheel Does Not Turn."
It happened at the point where the groove wheel reached the thickest part of the lens edge and the wheel just bit in to the lens and stopped. It occurred not just once, but similarly on both lenses. It's as if the Kappa can't put a safety bevel on a higher minus. Is that something normally expected? I can see the advantage to doing more safety bevels by hand.
