    Crazed Coating on Poly

We have had a few jobs returned recently with the coating on both lenses, stock poly by Sola, completely crazed. The condition of the wheels in our edgers seem fine and the lenses werent too large what could cause this and is anyone else having this problem?

Mike, have you talked to SOLA Tech Services? Even if thry're not aware of it, they will be interested in running it down. Try Gary at 800-555-7652 x 6490. (P.S. Pass a Hi to Joe for me.)

    Confused

We had a AR coated poly craze just today. It was a 1.0 center.
We are using a Briot edger and never had this problem before.
The replacement lens worked just fine. I can't figure it out either.

    Thin Centered Lens Edging

There are some techniques involved in edging thin centered lenses with AR coatings. I have a 1-page document that I would be happy to send to anyone interested.

It might be easier, to send me an email than to post the requests on this thread and tie it up. If I get enough requests, I might be able to get Steve to let me post it on the board.

Sorry Mike - misunderstood your opening remarks since you said 'cracked' coating on Poly. Since poly comes w/ scratch coat by default - I just assumed (yep know what it means) you were talking about AR.
