Office Mate and billing questions

If you have OM and you do billing would you be so kind as to IM me or drop me a line. My question is when billing monthly do you close your prior months books (with the exception of insurance)? I need some guidence on billing we have a debate forming and I believe we need a billing clerk/person who only does billing insurance, follow ups, pt billling, etc. Is it ok to bill someone months to maybe a year later because billing was busy doing other optical stuff and didn't get to billing.

I personally would be ticked if I got a bill a year later or worst yet my insurance was not billed.

get the billing clerk...we have one that does billing all day every day were open (4 days a week)..those insurances will try to do what ever they can to not pay, you need someone to stay on it at all times....as far as closing..we use Omate and i dont think we do close them.
