    Redhot Jumper No list

I have never seen a standardized list of questions. I just picked up my set as I learned. What are you currently asking your pts?

Those in sales:finger: usually have standardized questions leading the patient to what ever is most benficial to the salesperson. The opticians amoung us usually explain the options that will be of most benefit to the patient.

What more do you need to know?

Surveys like you describe are similar to ones I've seen used to quantify visual satisfaction before/after refractive surgery.

    Try there....FWIW

That's a lousy answer AND attitude. I've worked for lux, by and by the biggest company out there pushing the questionnaires. Lux is big on what they call 'consultative selling', which in effect, is a bunch of questions you ask the customer about their needs, open ended questions that allow the customer to give more information than just a yes or no. By uncovering those needs, the Optician can then give the best options for that SPECIFIC customer. Believe me, if they wanted us to sell the top end of everything to everyone, they wouldn't encourage their staff to ask questions that could let them know, for instance, that their customer is a mechanic and would HATE AR.

I don't want this to turn into another "Lux, luv it or leave it!" thread, but seriously, if you think asking customers questions like that is a bad thing, you've got to open your eyes a bit. These questions make it possible for Opticians to NOT group everyone together, and find the best product for the customers' needs, and shouldn't be frowned upon, or think they're only applicable in "Sales" environments.

OK, now I'm more confused. Do you mean frames, or lenses? Are you interested in designing frames, or looking into developing new lens materials etc? More info would be appriciated. :D
