93% of the world's population over the age of 45 suffers from presbyopia

Did any one hear from the following:

"93% of the world's population over the age of 45 suffers from presbyopia, a condition that causes a loss of the focus of the lens inside the eye resulting in near point blur. Today, this condition is treated with multi-focal lenses, and some experimental surgical procedures, such as scleral ablation and scleral expansion, are starting to emerge.
ReFocus is in the early stage of researching and developing a proprietary technology for reversing presbyopia. ReFocus provides a non-surgical, medical treatment to reverse the affects of presbyopia. ReFocus addresses the source of the problem instead of simply treating the symptoms. At the same time, ReFocus provides a doctor friendly, patient friendly, painless procedure.
ReFocus was invented and brought to The Egg Factory by an outside source.
ReFocus is currently pursuing 1 patent application."

This has been found on www.eggfactory.com

If anyone has something to say about it let's play it in the forum.

    Hmmmm!

The EGG Factory The EGG Factory?

    You're "yoking" with me!
I can't imagine a company using a "shell" like that for a name.

    On the other hand . . .

Who would have named a car Edsel?

Well, what they are doing remains to be "seen".

    Duhh!

The eVision technology they mention at the Egg Factory sounds interesting too. I wonder how many years of development we are looking at with these proposed systems?

    Arrow Over 50 it's 100%

    To Al:

    Dear Al,
to bring some more informtion if you go to
    http://www.refractec.com/internation...ress/719pr.htm

you will see that over 50 years old, 100% of people suffers from presbyopia.

There will will see as well that they are talking about Conductive Keratoplasty (CK).

Quest Vision, Inc., is developing an accommodated intraocular lens for correction of presbyopia.

It looks that everyone is looking at finding a way to correct presbyipia without reading glasses or some progresive lenses.

Keep an eye wide open on this.

    OK, OK . . . I'm wrong

I was just browsing Vision Monday and found this:
J&J Acquires Stake in Egg Factory Unit
    OK, so I blew it.
Now I've got "Egg" on my face.
    That sucks!
So, J&J is playing with mega high tech.
    Interesting.
So, if they come out with a product that does a number on presbyopia, what will we do with Contacts in monovision and contact lens bifocals and stuff.
    And, if J&J owns both . . . .

Anybody know how to spell dis CON tinued?
