    Cylinder Machine Parts

Is it time for some maintainance on your cylinder machines?
Here is a chance to get some great parts at an extremely low price.
Please read the full description on the baffles. I can not remember which model machine these fit, and considering how many machines I have rebuilt over the years. I found it very amusing.

My age is catching up to me:(

Please chime in if you have some answers:D

    Baffles

The first picture of baffles is for a 505 or 506 cyl machine.
The 2nd picture is for the 5056 cyl machine.

Nope! Those are for a 5056. Not for 506s or 505s.

    Thank you

    Thank you for the replys,

I did feel that they were for two different machines since the black baffles need the retainer rings and the beige baffles have a sleeve in the center.

Do they both fit the 5056?
I think Melvin may be correct on this, unless of coarse they were redesigned to fit both models.

    Baffles

The beige one on the left is for a 505 or 506 part #27618 it is design to fit on the tool post
the black one on the right is for the 5056 part # 28156 it is design to fit on the lap table
you can use the black one on the right on a 505 or 506 if you have lap table that has a built-in baffle retainer

Thank You Melvin for the specifics.
I can close my eyes and rebuild an entire Coburn or Optek machine in my head, but I cannot remember the differences between the Coburn models.

If anyone owns these machines this is a great deal.
I doubt there are many people browsing ebay for cylinder machine parts. Someone is going to save a lot of cash.

    AH HA!!!
So your the one who was using glue on baffles!!!!
I remember cussing up a storm trying to remove the glue.......HAHA.
I always used vaseline to seal them. They were easy to remove and rarely leaked.

Thanks for all the replies. I edited the ebay ad to only include the 5056 baffles and I will post a new ad for anyone who needs the 505-506 baffles. I need to get in the office tomorrow to take an accurate count.

No,No No, gule was the only way to get these sealed. That was by Coburn design. The ones in your pictures are not the ones we had.

    JUST KIDDING....

I do remember struggleing to change old baffles. I think out of all the different machines I used, I loved the 5056 for the ease of maintainance.

But those leaky air tool holders. And they now cost around $500.

Your bringing back a lot of old memories (nightmares), like busting my knuckles when the wrench slips.
I am 100% in favor of a frequent maintainance plan. It is so easy to disassemble, clean, and reassemble a 5056 when it is done frequently. Machines that get no love are the ones you have to spend an entire day trying to do a simple thing like changing the baffles.

1 hour of maintainance saves 8 hours of down time.

We do all our repairs on Monday morning. The maintenance has to be scheduled.

I sure wish they would print part numbers inside of these baffles.
