Had some software installation problems and didn't finish it yet.
Haven't given up, but other things are taking priority.

If you are wicked smaaht you can create anything you may want with Microsoft PowerPoint; Snellen, illiterate E's, Landolt Rings, whatever.

In fact, you really don't really have to be too smaaht. I did this back in the late eighties with PowerPoint v2.

Looking for eye testing software solution

For anyone capable of using FOSS (free open source software) there is this:

I'll be setting it up on a Raspberry Pi with a usb remote. Expect it to cost $250 with monitor, mount, cables, remote.
I'll write back once I have it tested.

Did you try doing this? I have a similar reqirement and I want to achieve this using android tv box.
