We're now just one week away from the optical event of the year! I'm looking forward to meeting some Optiboarders I know, and some I haven't met yet!

Cindy, I wish they did not book these conferences the week after long weekends (Thanksgiving).

We had to shut down on weekends for the conference. That makes it two weekends in a row that the store is closed, and during a prime season. I remember the one the weekend after Labour Day one year that really hurt business.

That is/was the plan but tuesday my great grandfather (98 years old) passed away so I am not sure what the next couple of months are going to bring my way re: his estate, etc.

I am heading down to my hometown (San Diego) thursday and will know more after my return home if I am able to or not. Not sure if I will have to keep heading down there in these next few months...

So, I'll let you know when I get back what the deal~ leo is...

As we're less than a month away from this event I'd like to bump it back up towards the top of this forum to keep it in everyone's face! If you haven't already done so, check out the links I provided in my original post and you might find some compelling reasons for attending either in person or virtually!

I'll be rolling in Thursday night and leaving Sunday, though my flight back from Kelowna goes through Vancouver. Last direct flight from Kelowna to Calgary leaves at 5:00 right when the last seminars end, boo.

Ha that's too funny- a few months back Snit and several other opticians from diverse areas of BC participated in an online CE I presented one Sunday morning. I was actually wanting to do the presentation in my jammies just to prove a point but I chickened out at the last second and got meself looking camera ready instead. Too bad- tech difficulties prevented everyone from seeing my webcam anyways! So, Harry, the future has already happened!

One of the other advantages to virtually attending is the ability to drink a fine cold beer while watching and no one to look at me funny while I do it.
