Hello Caroline,
I use this diet when I'm "cutting up" or thinning down for weight lifting purposes. It works well and it works fast. I've been using it for about five years now. Why do you ask?

PS. anyone wishing to try this diet needs to ask a lot of questions and read the book BEFORE you undertake the task. DO NOT go on the recommendation of someone with limited information about the diet or you could end up with problems. TTFN.
Good job Caroline!
About five years ago I radically changed my diet and eating habits after reading the books SugarBusters and Sugar Blues. Since then I've lost 40 pounds and kept them off! :) In addition I've reduce my body fat percentage from 30% to arong 13%.
SugarBusters recommends a modified low-carb diet that is not nearly as strict as the Atkin's diet and some other low carb alternatives. Simply put, it recommends avoiding all sugar and highly refined carbohydrates; such as non-whole grain breads and pastas (whole grain is ok), potatoes, and some fruits. The only thing I really cheat on is watermelon which I can't resist! :D

Just curious, Darris. I've been doing it since September and like it alot. Been trying to get my co-worker to do it, but she's been "brain-washed" by Weight Watchers.;) Anyone interested can check out this web site: www.atkinsfriends.com It's not run by Dr. Atkins, but great info and support. Sorry if I sound like a comercial!:)
Later,
