    Wave Rimless/wood frames

    Hi everyone!:)

I have seen some rimless frames with bamboo and dark wood sides which I really like, I have a sample which I have showed quite few people they have all been very positive about them (as to looks etc)

However as I dont know much about wood Im wondering if there is anything I should be aware of

    Thanks!

    Alan:cheers:

Maker sure it's damp but not wet before you try to adjust the temples. Warn against getting it wet, or leaving it out in, say cars overnight with the windows down (wood warps).

    wood

Woodies has been around since the mid-eighties "I think" have not seen them around for a while but their gig was all wood. I imagine if its a temple. embellishment no problems, but they are completely unforgiving when it come to adjusting. It has to fit perfect from the get go otherwise it will boomerang. Imm sure wood has been played with for a very long time. Chrome Hearts stared using wood for their temples 5 years ago. They used a great temple shape and relied on temple splay and spring hinge for comfort and stability. They seem to have a nice finish and will hold up for a while. Ill leave styling considerations up to viewer its a niche product.

    Cartier eyewear

Cartier also used a wood temple in the early to mid 90's with their bagatelle, malmaison, and i think St. Honore?? cant remember their first wood collection was comprised of three frames. 2 combos with wood temple and 1 the Malmaison had a solid browbar made of rosewood?? Which was prone to breakage due to rigidity.

I wouldn't buy any wood frame without spring hinges.

jerry hyang can tell you better than I, but soak with mineral oil it think, then heat and adjust for horn. Wood, moisten, try to do most with metal parts, them try to form wood and air dry. Lot to be said for a file on those joints if too narrow.
